William NICHOLS Obituary

September 9, 1935 - January 8, 2022

William Thomas (Bill) Nichols of Renfrew, Ontario passed away peacefully at the Renfrew Victoria Hospital on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at the age of 86 years. Bill leaves behind his loving wife of 65 years Anna (Snedden). Beloved father of Hugh (Kimberly) of Pitt Meadows, British Columbia, Blair (Kimberley) of Renfrew, Ontario and Mark (Angela) of Regina, Saskatchewan. Much loved by his grandchildren Scott (Susan), Sarah (Eric) and Julia of Ottawa, Ontario, William (Carmen) of Port Moody, British Columbia and Caitlin of Langley, British Columbia. Bill was born in Carleton Place, Ontario in 1935, son of the late Thomas Ernest and Wilma Alice Nichols. Bill is predeceased by his sisters Pamela (O'Reilly/Durrell) and Doris (Paynter). Bill will be missed by his many nephews, nieces, relatives, and friends including those made at Maple Leaf Estates in Port Charlotte, Florida. Bill was a successful business owner, well known for his community involvement with the Lions Club and Renfrew Victoria Hospital Foundation. He was an avid hunter who loved the outdoors, cottage life, music, a good story and all things Ottawa Valley. Most importantly Bill loved people and always took time to care about their lives. He never failed to stop and chat, always with a quick wit and incredible memory for names, places, and connections.
The Nichols family would like to thank the staff at Quail Creek Retirement Residence and the Renfrew Victoria Hospital for their care and compassion. Cremation has been entrusted to Zohr Family Funeral Home, Renfrew. A Celebration of Life and interment will be held at St. James Cemetery in Carleton Place, Ontario, date to be announced.
