Yvonne Rochon Obituary
Peacefully and most courageously, with her family by her side. Yvonne leaves behind her 4 children, Michael Kennedy (Kathy Champagne), Lynda Furlong (Robert), Julie Jenkins, Patrick Kennedy (Natalie Larocque). Proud 'Grams' to Kali Best (Ryan), Jason Furlong (Lindsay) and Shaun Furlong, Billy Jenkins, Pyper and Carson Kennedy all of whom she passed on her love of fishing, canoeing and simply being outdoors. Special 'GiGi' to Peyton, Spencer and Hannah Best and Hudson Furlong.
Yvonne was born in Hull, Quebec to the late Marguerite (nee Charette) and Jean Rochon. Predeceased by her brother Michel and survived by her sister Claudette Brind'Amour (Tony), brother Gerry Rochon (Jeannine), and sister-in-law Anita Harper.
She will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews who will remember 'ma tante Yvonne' as someone who brought enjoyment to the family gatherings and never missed a chance to dance to Hotel California.
Yvonne has enjoyed a long retirement from the Federal Government allowing her to indulge in her golf and bingo marathons. She loved hockey and was her grandsons' biggest fan. She was a talented sewer and knitter and always enjoyed a glass of wine while reading or working on a puzzle. Yvonne didn't miss many Tuesday dart nights at Branch 192 of the Carleton Place Legion where she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary and also volunteered. She also loved her 'golden girls' and afternoon drinks at the gazebo on Coleman St.
A heartfelt thank you to her many friends for their kindness and support.
Thank you to her home care team Alex and Amanda, and especially to Dr. Courchene and Cynthia for their years of care and support.
In keeping with Yvonne's wishes, there will be no celebration of life. In lieu, the family will be making a donation to Carleton Place Legion Branch 192, Ladies Auxiliary.
