Christopher Heslop Obituary

We regret to announce the passing of Christopher (Harold) Heslop, after a lengthy illness.

He leaves to mourn his loving wife, Colleen, his son Steve (Cindy and children Kirsten and Adam) of Burns Lake, his son Bruce (Rita and children Lauren, Larissa, Hannah, Cody & Sarah) of Aldergrove, his son Daniel (Laurel Stanley) of Kamloops, his daughter Lenore Heslop (and children Ben and Sarah Mattioli) of Kamloops, his brother Gordon Heslop (Margaret) of Kamloops, also step-grandchiIdren Jason Mattioli (Sophia and children Matthew and Beth) and Steven (Stephanie) Mattioli, and Amber Gibson, his sister Lorna Keith (Bob) of Abbotsford, his sister Jean Bartz (Eric) of Langley, brothers-in-law Merve Hannah (Mary) of Kamloops and Stan Hannah (Cindy) of Moyie Lake, BC, sisters-in-law Pat Hannah, Barb Hannah and Yvonne Hannah, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Harold was pre-deceased by his parents Thomas and Matilda Heslop, his son Tommy Heslop and his brothers-in-law, Clarence Hannah, Lawrence Hannah and Russell Hannah and very good friend Glen Hanna.

Harold was born in Victoria, BC and grew up in the Nicola Valley, helping on the family ranch. He was a heavy-duty mechanic and a welder and was a member of Operating Engineers Loc. 115, and the IWA. Harold loved the outdoors, hunting, and fishing. He was a life member of the Kamloops & District Fish and Game club and the BC Wildlife Federation, and a life member of the NRA.

Special thanks to Dr. Paul Bishop and Dr. Rene Soucy for their kindness and caring. Thanks also to the staff of Ponderosa Lodge, 2 -West, for their care of Harold. What a helpful group of people! Our thanks also to Bud Lingren who never gave up on visiting Harold - it meant a lot to him.

A memorial service will be held Saturday July 26 at 11:00 am at Holy Family Catholic Church, 2707 Sunset Drive, Kamloops. In lieu of flowers, donations to the B.C. Wildlife Federation, 101-3060 Norland Ave., Burnaby, B.C. V2B 3A6. would be greatly appreciated.
