A Celebration of Derek

In Loving Memory

Derek Alfred Raedeke

August 2, 1965 ~ July 14, 2009

Our dear brother Derek passed away suddenly July 14th, 2009. He was loved greatly by his family and anyone who knew him. He will be sadly missed and forever loved.

Derek was predeceased by his mother Laverne Strohschein (2007), father Walter Raedeke (2007) and stepfather Arnold (Spud) Strohschein (2008).

He is survived by six siblings: Walter Raedeke, Edmonton; Wendy (Keith) Ferlin, Summerland; Laurie (Ted) Ramsey, Terrace; Liz Richards, Langley; Peter Richards (Karin Sykes), Kamloops; Melanie Raedeke (Tina Kostesky), Kamloops; and Grant (Barb) Raedeke, Terrace.

Derek was a most special Uncle to his nieces and nephews: Warren Raedeke, Zoe Ferlin, Lindsay Ferlin, Janie (James) Kester, Melanie (Travis) Casper, Chad Price, Deanna Raedeke, Ashtyn Kostesky, Stephanie (Simon) Houston, Mike Richards (Angela Roe), Pearce Richards (Kaile Biglow), great-nieces Alora and Reina Buyote, Calla Raedeke-Smith; and great nephew Dustin Kester.

Derek also had many close friends, especially Geoff Stager who was a mentor and good fishing buddy. Of course we must mention his close and ever faithful companion, dear Oscar (Ozzy).

Derek was an avid fisherman, a wonderful and loving brother, the greatest uncle ever, and a true friend. We are deeply saddened by his loss.

A Celebration of Derek?s life will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, July 24th in the Chapel of Personal Alternative Funeral Services, 177 Tranquille Road, Kamloops, BC.
