Diana Ball Obituary

My life has ended on my own terms, which was very important to me. I have always been strong-minded (sometimes frustrating for my family!). My single biggest wish, always, was to become a mother and grandmother. I am incredibly happy that wish came true for me. I loved every minute of those times together, watching all the sports and activities my kids were involved in and later, watching my grandkids in their activities.

My heart always ached for those less fortunate, troubled with addictions and homelessness, those feeling unloved. Christmases were very special to me and I loved being with family then. Our times at the cabin at Anglemont, boating on the Shuswap Lake, all of us together, were so much fun. I am so proud of my sons and all their accomplishments. We have endured adversities with love. To my lifelong friends, Sue; Linda & Doug; Chris & Michel, you are a special gift.

I am survived by my sons, Wade (Darcia), Trevor and my grandkids Payton and Ashlyn; my brothers Jerry (Dee), Bob (Lynne), and their children. I am predeceased by my parents, Ralph and Sylvia. Keep me in your heart. I will stay there always. I'll miss you forever. I will love you longer. And "I'll be home for Christmas." Love, Mom and Gramma "B"

Family and friends will honour Diana with a Celebration of Life when we can all be together.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Diana's name to Our Place Society (www.ourplacesociety.com).

To Wade, Trevor and family:

Love is a direct line to you, "My favourite cousin".

My sister and I babysat you as a child and since that time, how you have become a loving, caring and beautiful Mother and Grandmother. Diana was always so fond to tell stories about her children and the grandchildren; they were her breath of daily fresh air.

A few years ago, we spent the day driving the Pacific road and talked about our families. She was most happy whenever I could find pictures of her young Father and memories she kept in her heart forever.

We last saw each in the latter part of January, meeting in her building's foray. I removed my mask, gave her a peck on the cheek and a hearty hug; what a lasting beautiful memory.

Well, Diana, when we say, "I love you", this is another way of saying goodbye until we meet again.

Dear Trevor & Wade, so sorry to see that your Mom has passed away. Glad she was able to do it on her terms! Fond memories of our friendship back in Rayleigh, so many years ago! Camping together, dinners, her teaching me how to make Christmas Crackers, still do it every year. Seeing her on her bike, always stopping for her Cherry Blossom!

To all of Diana's family, so very sorry for your loss. I went to school with Diana since grade 1. She had the most bubbly personality and grin, she lit up the room. I enjoyed seeing her at the school reunions, which I know she was a big part in organizing. You will be greatly missed Diana. May you rest in peace. Love Sharon Pine (Quick)

Please accept our sincere condolences for your family's loss. We appreciate being mentioned as a memorial charity. When Diana writes: "My heart always ached for those less fortunate, troubled with addictions and homelessness, those feeling unloved," it is very moving.
We know exactly what she means. We will do our best to share her values of caring and compassion with all those in Greater Victoria who experience poverty, homelessness, isolation, and substance abuse disorder.
Thank you, Diana, for helping to make this world a better place for all.

My sincere condolences.
Diana holds a special place in my heart. She enjoyed life, loved family and kept in touch with friends. To know her was to love her. For me, it was her smile, bubbly personality and cuteness.
She was a kind person and liked to help others. She offered and did create my Rob´s Celebration of Life video.
I especially need to mention that Diana and my late sister Jackie were the very best of friends and it is nice to know they truly are friends forever.
Enjoy your bike rides in Heaven.
RIP Diana Luv Ya, Mar

We moved to Rayleigh in `81 and were neighbours across the back yards. Trevor and our oldest son played together when they were small. My memories of Diana were running, around Rayleigh, Hey 5 and up through Peterson Creek. Not sure how she did it but always a smile on her face. Rest Well!
