Duncan Maclaren Obituary

Ron passed away peacefully at Overlander Extended Care Hospital in Kamloops on April 18th. Ron is survived by his wife Alice, his brothers; Chuck MacLaren and Norman (Lorna) MacLaren, his sons; Bob (Gail) MacLaren of Westsyde, Larry MacLaren (Juanita) of Logan Lake, daughter Darlene (Allan) Gulliford of Logan Lake and daughter in law Anne MacLaren of Kamloops. Ron had lots of grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Ron was predeceased by his first wife Ardith, son Terry, grandson Clinton, his brother Keith, sisters Peggy and Jean.

Ron spent many years working with Royalite Refinery in Brocklehurst, which later became Gulf Oil. Ron loved music; he played the banjo and sax, but was most interested in playing piano, which we were all proud to say he played by ear. Ron played at dances and get togethers, especially after his retirement when Alice and he became snowbirds, Yuma in the winter and Kamloops in the summer. They met a lot of good friends in their travels, many of which had kept in touch long after they no longer went south.

Ron lived his life his way, and when he became tired, he lived out the rest of his life with dignity, with his loving wife always by his side.

We?d like to thank our very special Dr. Hollman for all her care of Ron, and a special thank you to the wonderful care Ron received from Ponderosa Staff, Overlander Extended Care Hospital and Royal Inland Hospital.

There will be no funeral by Ron?s request. A family remembrance will be held at a later date. Friends wishing to remember Ron may

make a donation in Ron?s name to a Charity of their choice.
