Edward Steffen Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Edward Henry Steffen, on Sunday afternoon, August 26, 2007. Ed passed away peacefully at Ponderosa Lodge with his entire family at his side.
Ed is survived by his loving wife, Luella, of 58 years, son Jan (Coral), Cindy (Graig), grandchildren Josh, Kim, Kaylee, Kristen, Jayson & Evan, sisters Anne Bredy, Helen McIvor, Tina Gunderson, and numerous nieces and nephews. Ed was predeceased by his parents Valentine and Henrietta Steffen, brothers Jack, John, Phil and Bill, and sisters Elizabeth and Katherine.
Ed was a devoted, kind-hearted husband, father and friend who loved gardening, camping, fishing, watching a good ball game or having a game of horseshoes. Music was a big part of Ed?s life, as he played guitar for many weddings, anniversaries and other functions over the years. Most of all, Ed loved his family and loved to listen to his grandkids play their musical instruments.
Ed worked at the Weyerhaeuser pulpmill for 22 years as a welder before retiring in 1984.
Dad spent the last 11 months at Ponderosa Lodge, where he was cared for by the wonderful staff and volunteers.
A memorial service will be held at the Hills of Peace Lutheran Church, 695 Robson Drive on Thursday, August 30, 2007 at 11:00 a.m.
