James Scott Obituary

James Lee Scott (Jamie) passed away peacefully on July 9th 2019 at the Trinity Care Unit in Kamloops B.C. after a 9 month battle with Cancer at the age of 58.

He is survived by his beloved wife Carol, daughter Caylen (Brett), son Bryden (Melissa), sister Heather (Oliver), brother Clayton (Donna), mother Lorraine, father Jack, nephews Riley and Callum, mother in-law Lorraine, sisters in-law Sandra (Brad), Dini (Eric), and Linda. Along with his many other extended family members and close friends.

Jamie was born on April 2nd, 1961 in Kamloops B.C. where he lived for the majority of his life.

He worked for CN Rail as a track supervisor for 35 years. He then enjoyed retirement for one year before returning to work at Universal Rail.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing, playing and watching hockey as well as drinking rum with his longtime friends by the pool. He was a hardworking man, with an excellent sense of humour who wasn't afraid to break the rules a little bit if it meant having a good time.

A huge thank you goes out to Dr. Jonat, Dr. Farren, and all the doctors, nurses and care aids at RIH, the Cancer Clinic and Trinity Care.

Jamie will always be in our hearts and memories. A celebration of life will be held at the Coast Hotel and Conference Center, Friday, July 19th at 11am.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the RIH Caner Clinic or Overlander Trinity Care.

If there is one thing that I learned from Jamie it would be to enjoy your life, it is short. Do whatever it is that makes you happy. Keep a smile on your face and laugh whenever you can. I am sorry I can't attend but I send my love to Carol, Bryden & Caylen. You will be missed Jamie!

Jamie was a hardworking, honorable and loving man with a quick wit and infectious smile. He was always ready with a joke or two...and his jokes were good! Laughter was never far with Jamie around. Just one of those genuinely upstanding guys you dont encounter every day...who truly seemed to love life. As a long time friend of Carol's I have always deeply admired and respected Jamie as a person, and especially as a husband and father. He definately left his mark in this world and I am absolutely heartbroken for his family and closest friends. May you be at peace Jamie. You were one of the good ones.

We wish to express our deepest sympathies and extend our condolences to Jamie's wife and family. Jamie and I worked together at CN Rail in different departments for over 30 years and spoke to each often. he was a great guy and always a helpful person with a great sense of humor. I regret that I will be unable to attend the celebration of his life, but he will be in my thoughts and prayers and memory.

Worked together since 1983, and always looked forward to a good retirement.
As for most, working life gets to be a habit, and a standard of a need for further involvement. Jamie had the crave to be a part of that participation, and ongoing involvement within the railway.
Through this nature of his personality, and our joint working relations, great strides for improvement and progress have been made.
Jamie's ability to recognize an opportunity for the better, was matched with few to none in his line of work, all awhile always standing by all those beside him loyally.
I consider myself fortunate to have known Jamie, and for being able to mutually grow in many ways while working at CN.

I was so sorry to hear the news of Jamie's passing. We worked together many times in the early years of our careers at CN and he always brought a smile to my face with his sense of humour and general outlook on life. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Sadly I am unable to attend Jamie's celebration of life but be assured he will be remembered fondly. The thoughts of many are with you at this time of sadness.
