John Melnyk Obituary

It is with great sadness and tear filled eyes, we announce the sudden passing of our wonderful husband, father, grandfather (aka poppie), and our best friend. You touched so many lives in your 75 years here.

John loved and lived for his wife, children, grandchildren, and his granddogs. He was an accomplished steel guitar player whose love and passion of music would take him on a journey of owning his own music store, Sonance Music where he and his son would teach and share their love of music with others. He loved listening to Sarah Brightman, Il Divo, Andre Rieu and playing his steel guitar. In 1997, he retired from BC Lottery as a General Tradesman, a job and friends he loved and reminisced about all the time.

?Tool Time John? will always be remembered for his creative side for building guitars and being able to build and rebuild just about anything. Their house has been remodelled from floor to ceiling many times over. Everywhere we look around us is something created by John?s own hands. We will also miss him for his great sense of humour in telling stories and jokes.

Left to cherish and treasure special memories is his wife of 47 years Barbara, his children and grandchildren: Brad (Gail), Jason, and Victoria; Jan (Axel) Zach (Brad); Joyce (Barry), Sheldon, and Shay (Mike); his nephew Wally and of course his favourite granddogs Cody, Harley, and Muffie. He is also survived by his mother Julia who is 103 years old and brothers David and Peter.

?Thank You? to our neighbour Gail and the paramedics who tried so hard that morning to keep John with us, and also the support of the RCMP and Coroner?s office.

?Dad we will watch and listen for you in the beauty of God?s great things. We know God needed one of his best carpenters in heaven and he called you home. See you on the other side, we love you?.
