Kenneth Alford Obituary
Ken passed away suddenly on September 26, 2005, at 58 years old, leaving his family with the most profound sadness one could ever imagine. There was no love deeper than that which he had for the two most important people in his life; his wife Janis to whom he was happily married to for 23 wonderful years and his son, Brett (20) who he was so very proud of each and every day ? words cannot express his adoration and love for us. He always said he loved us more than life itself.
Ken also leaves behind Ken and Maureen Watson (inlaws), Brent and Angela Watson, Brad and Heather, Shelby and Cameron Watson. Ken?s brothers and their families are also deeply mourning his loss: Blaine and Phyllis Alford of Portage La Prairie, MB, Jim and Ellem Alford of Duncan, B.C., Bill and Lynn Alford of Oakville, MB and many nieces and nephews. Ken was predeceased by his father, Robert and his mother, Mary. There are many, many friends in Kamloops, other parts of B.C. and Saskatchewan that will miss him terribly.
Ken was a member of the RCMP from 1966-1998 moving numerous times throughout B.C. and finally retiring in Kamloops to become the best Mr. ?Mom? Brett and Janis could ever have asked for. Ken was the most unselfish, affectionate, strong and loving person who was known by many for his hearty laugh, sense of humour and his great attitude towards life despite many curves thrown his way. His passions included his small companion RJ who never left his side, his obsession with the NFL, golfing, Saturday nights at the Watson?s playing shuffleboard and cards and last but certainly not least, a good glass of whiskey. Thank you so very much to Dr. Terry Simpson and Sue who have been there for our family so many times ? our gratitude is infinite!!
Thank you as well to Dr. Kincade, between you and Dr. Simpson, you were able to accomplish what others may not have been able to do. A special thank you to my Dad/Papa, Ken Watson for being with Ken that day on the golf course ? he knew you were there for him, you were and always will be his ?golfing buddy? and great friend! You always wanted to soar like an eagle and see what the ?afterlife? had to offer, death was not a fear of yours. Our grief is beyond words, we are devastated to have lost the best thing that ever happened to us!
We will love you forever and will see you again ? that we know for sure!
In lieu of flowers the family requests a donation be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or charity of choice in Ken?s name. No service by request.
