November-20th 2018.
Dear Travis and Jason:
We were very sorry to learn of the passing of your father. I (Barbara) am a first cousin to your father and will always remember the summers growing up when he came to our farm in Bradford Ontario. Our Grandfather, John Lee was delighted when your father came and fondly nick-named him "Doogie" which lasted for the times he came.

Travis and Jason, We are both so sorry to learn of the death of your beloved father. I ( Charlotte) am a first cousin to your father. Oh what fun we had when we were younger in Bradford, Ontario. Many years ago, we went to your ranch and met you and then again at your Grandmother's birthday in Ontario Memories are wonderful and know you have many which will help in the difficult days ahead. Our prayers and blessings are with both of you. Lots of love and hugs and keep in touch. xxxoooo Jim & Charlotte Haller Portz

I met Dr. Jack when I worked for him in Barriere. He was an amazing story teller with such a lovely sense of humour. On the days that I worked I would looked forward to the possibility of having a few moments alone with him to hear one of his many tales. His smile and laughter was contagious and he shared it willingly and often. He will be sadly and forever missed by me.

I worked with Doug in Kamloops and was fortunate to get to know him- it seemed that FUN seemed to follow him and therefore it was always a pleasure to be around him.

I am so sad to hear the passing of Dr. Jack. He had the best sense of humour....he use to come to my fitness classes when he was living in Barriere and he was also my Mom's Dr in Kamloops. When he lived in Barnhartvale my daughter Lynn also was able to help him out when needed. He will be missed. Rest in peace Dr Jack....My condolences to the family.

My deepest sympathy to Travis, Jason & family. I met Doug in 1973 when I moved to the Mabel Lake area. He was my family doctor until 1979 when I moved away from the area. I later had an opportunity to meet up with him again after he moved to Kamloops as he worked as a locum for my family doctor.
