Larry Lundstrom Obituary

With extremely heavy hearts and pain in our hearts, we announce that my precious husband Larry, Father and Pappa has passed away.

Larry will be lovingly remembered by his family, loving wife Barbara, daughter Lisa, son Quinn, daughter Jennifer, son Jonathan, son Steven and son Matthew and Matthew?s mother Angela Ward, brother in-law Ron Senkiw, sister in-law Debbie Senkiw and many cousins and great aunts in North Western Ontario. He also had many dear friends.

Larry was born on June 15, 1943 in Fort Frances, Ontario to parents Clara and Axel Lundstrom. Larry was raised on a farm in Straton. In 1971 Larry met his love Barbara at a wedding. In 1973 they were married, 38 years later they were still going strong! Larry loved hockey having played it as a youth. He loved going to the Blazers games, watching hockey on television and reading about hockey. It really was his passion.

Larry and his dad Axel were avid hunters, many a deer they would bring home. Fishing was also a wonderful pastime for him, leaving at 5:00 a.m., returning hours later with the catch of the day!

Larry loved his family and cared for them all. He spent as much time as possible with them. He would love to hear the boys saying ?Hi Pappa!? and to hear his kids say ?Hi Dad!? He really was an excellent husband, father and pappa to his family.

Larry was a life long member of the United Steel Workers Union of America. He operated anything from dozers, graders, packers and large trucks. Larry spent most of his life in open pit mining in Ignace, Ontario and Akitokan, Ontario, as well as working at Highland Valley Copper, formerly known as Lornex. He took pride in his job and pride in the machines that he operated right up until he retired 10 years ago.

Larry, how we will miss your goofy jokes, your smile and you just being you.

We all love you very much. Love, your Family.

A Celebration of Larry?s life will be held on Friday, November 25, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in the Kamloops Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers donations would be gratefully accepted at HSBC Educational Trust Fund Account #5349865 for Matthew Lundstrom.

Thank you to everyone, for everything.
