Michael Dunn Obituary

On April 24, 2009 a tragic accident took our beloved husband, daddy, son, brother, and friend. Mourning this devastating loss is his partner and wife of 9 years, Tracy; his pride and joy, his children - Simon (5 3/4) and Sabrina (4); his parents, Robin & Christine Dunn; in-laws Dan & Lynda Dunbar; sister, Joanna; brother, Robert; nephews Jarred, Kaden & Luke as well as many relatives and friends in Canada, the US and the UK.

Mike was a very hands-on dad and his children were the light in his life. A recent family trip to Disneyland was a special event for him.

Mike was a very well liked and respected Engineer, athlete and colleague. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hiking and backpacking, he completed the West Coast Trail 14 times. He enjoyed running and Nordic skiing, raced competitively in both and loved being a volunteer coach of the Nordic Ski Bunny class. Road cycling was his newest passion and he became an accomplished rider with his usual intensity.

Mike was employed with Pollard Banknote for 11 years, most recently as the Manager of the Engineering department. His brilliant mind and problem-solving skills made him a huge asset to the company. He developed and maintained several projects in the Kamloops, Winnipeg and Michigan facilities.

No service will be held at Mike?s request. Flowers are gratefully declined, instead donations in Mike?s honour can be made to the Overlander Ski Club, a link is available at www.overlanderskiclub.com. Donations ?in trust? for Mike?s children can be made in care of Vanessa Shilson, Pollard Banknote Limited, 9989 Dallas Drive, Kamloops, BC, V2C 6T4.
