It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Norman MacRae. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Nina; children Wayne MacRae, Judy Slater (Bob), Janie Goupil (Bill), Bob MacRae (Debbie), Murray MacRae (Melody), and Sally Rolfes (Joe); twelve grandchildren Joey, Jay, Jo-Anne, Christy, Jennifer, Scott, Nicole, Michelle, Christopher, Laura, Kayla and Sam; five great grandchildren Brenden, Alex, Brielle, Tyler and Ayla; his sisters Jean and Lorna and numerous nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by grandson Jason MacRae.
Norman was born in Cayley, Alberta and moved to Athabasca, Alberta at a very young age. He met his wife Nina in Athabasca where she was on her first teaching job. They moved to Calgary after their second child was born. Norman worked for the city of Calgary as a welder until his retirement in 1970. They moved to Burns Lake, Sicamous, and Athabasca, before settling in Kamloops in 1983.
The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 27, 2007 in Berean Baptist Church, 453 Linden Avenue, with Pastor Mahlon Horton officiating.
Viewing will take place on Friday, October 26, from 7:30 to 9:00 pm, in the Rosewood Room at Kamloops Funeral Home, 285 Fortune Drive.
The family would appreciate flowers or donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, in memory of Norman MacRae.
