August 10, 1943 ? June 3, 2008
We have to say with great sadness that Peter passed away on June 3 after a lengthy illness. Peter was predeceased by his parents Florence and Leslie Basson. He leaves behind his beloved daughter whom he adored, Kimberly (John) Kaufeld of Ontario, his brother Ian (Glenys) Basson of Powell River, their daughter Claire (Kevin) Basson, his nephews David and Paul Basson, and great niece Echo. Also left to grieve his beloved ex-wife and best friend Wendy (Doug) Dickson, Jennifer Holding, Diana (David) Coomber and cousins in England. His best buddies Ozzie, Fozzie and Smudge will miss their ?dad?, as well as many dear friends at TRU Trades and throughout Kamloops.
He came to Canada in 1966, an Electrical Engineer by profession, he settled in Kamloops, where he worked for many local companies with the IBEW local 993. In the early 1980?s, he started teaching the Electrical Trades Entry Program, which he created at the now TRU until he retired in April 2007.
He loved car racing, NHL, cooking, but most of all travelling with his daughter to Disneyland and lastly on a cruise for his retirement.
A Memorial Service at TRU will be arranged at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Kamloops SPCA, 1211 ? 8th Street, Kamloops, BC V2B 2Y3 in memory of Peter would be appreciated.
