Raymond Reimer Obituary

Ray passed away quietly after a courageous fight with the cancers that have plagued his life since 1988. Left to mourn this wonderful man is his best friend, playmate and wife, Cookie; loving parents, Jean and Neil Reimer, Sidney, BC; beloved children and grandchildren, daughter Dallas (Darren), Dominique and Dayna Embury, son, Wayne (Julie), Brandy and Travis Reimer, all of Savona, BC; his siblings, Douglas (Alice Kidd) Reimer, Lillooet, BC, Lynn (Lisa) Reimer, Abbotsford, BC. Bonnie (Ed) Gerow, Williams Lake, BC; Andrea (Dan) Kane will miss her ?Uncle-Dad?. Christian, Delane and Diego Kane their ?Poppa Ray?. Sister-in-law, Christine Bennett (John Easton), Kamloops, BC will miss ?Mr. Scenario?, as she fondly called him.

Ray was born in Sidney, BC and was embraced by a loving family for all his life. Boughneath Farm was the hub of his wheel, parents, grandparents, siblings, aunts, uncles and cousins, the spokes. To start his working life, Ray was a meticulous welder, fabricator; he worked in Victoria, BC. In 1966 he married and started his family on Vancouver Island. In 1973, Ray, Barb, Dallas and Wayne moved to Kamloops where he had longed to be since working at Frolek?s in the early 60s. In 1990 Ray married Cookie and his new life began.

Ray loved machinery and trucks from the moment he could steer and shift a gear. Trucking was his life; he knew this by age 16. Ray was a professional truck driver, respected and honored for his expertise. No truck was too big, too small or too difficult. In the past 15 years, J. Munden Transport has enjoyed his trucking and welding knowledge and innovative ideas. He was a teacher, a worker and friend.

From lifelong to present, Ray will be sadly missed by his wonderful groups of friends and family. Folks from childhood on up through the years have visited these past months and he has loved every minute. Talking about the old days was a favorite thing with Ray. Life will not be the same without his ??Rayisms?.

Special thanks to Christine Bennett, Doug Reimer, Rob Wyatt, George Pruden, George Spencer, John and Lisa Koncsik for all the help, especially with the ?68?.

A celebration of Ray?s life will be held at 1630 Slater Ave, Kamloops, BC on July 14th at 2:00 pm. Please bring your fondest memories and truck stories.
