In Loving Memory of
Robert R. Walsh (Bob)
Bob passed away peacefully on Monday, April 13 at the age of 73. He will be lovingly remembered by wife Donna and his sons, Danny of 100 Mile, Randy of Kamloops and Dale (Linda) and their daughter Monica of Kamloops. Bob is survived by brother Tim (Vivian) of Regina, SK and sister Isobel of Richmond and numerous nieces, nephews and inlaws.
Bob was born in Jasmin, SK on March 2, 1936. He was the youngest of ten children born to Robert and Alice Walsh. He grew up on a farm which he loved and spoke of often. Bob moved to Vancouver in his late teens to be with his sisters. He worked there for a few years before moving to Kamloops in 1959. Bob met and married Donna in 1960. They raised their family and continue to reside in Kamloops.
Bob started working for McGregor Construction in the early 60?s. Owner Larry McGregor was a great role model and encouraged Bob to become a qualified carpenter. Bob continued in construction for many years until a serious accident in 1980.
Bob enjoyed curling, golfing and holidays at the Shuswap. He spent many hours volunteering as a member of the Kamloops Lions Club. One of his favourite pastimes was flipping pancakes at the Mother?s Day breakfasts in Riverside Park.
Bob loved life, his work, and his family, especially his beautiful granddaughter Monica.
The Walsh family wish to thank the staff of Overlander Extended Care, Evergreen Wing for the wonderful care they gave to Bob over the last five years. They would also like to thank Dr. J. Reid, the staff of Royal Inland Hospital E.R. 6N 3W and the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice Home for all the care and attention during his final days. Should friends desire, a donation to any of the above Care facilities would be greatly appreciated.
A Celebration of Bob?s life will be held on Monday, April 20, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. in the Schoening Funeral Chapel with The Very Reverend Louise Peters officiating.
