Roy McPherson Obituary

Suddenly on February 4th,2007, Roy Delbert McPherson of Kamloops, B.C. passed away at the age of 71 years. Beloved husband of Fern and dear father of Cindy(Beau) Faust of Tacoma, Washington and Russell(Cheryl) McPherson of Vancouver, B.C. He also leaves to cherish his memory, grandchildren, Matthew Faust and Samantha Faust as well as one brother Ray(Elaine) McPherson of Fairbanks, Ak. and Hattie Neilsen of Whitehorse, also many nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins. Roy was born in Butte Montana on Jan.16th, 1936 and had lived in many places during his life. Roy moved to Canada at the age of 13yrs. with his family. Their travels took him to the Dawson Creek area where he became employed in the Trucking industry at an early age. Roy worked up and down the Alaska Hwy. for a number of years, spending the last five of those years working in the Oil fields in Fort Nelson where he met his wife Fern of 42 years. Roy was also teamster foreman on the Mica Creek dam project where both of his children were born while living in Mica Creek, before moving to Vernon in 1970, remaining there for 19 years, moving again to Golden, B.C. in 1989, where he fueled trains for Bulk Systems and then transfering to Kamloops in 1993 and began hauling chips to the Weyerhaeuser Pulp Mill. A Celebration of Roy?s Life will be held at the Kamloops Funeral Home Chapel (285 Fortune Dr.) on Saturday February 10th, 2007 at 5:00 P.M. with Pastor Mary Widmer officiating.
