Sheryl Fehr Obituary
In loving memory of Sheryl Dawn Fehr, age 58, who passed away peacefully with her family by her side at the Mission Memorial Hospice on Saturday, February I I 2006. She was diagnosed with lung cancer on January 4 2006.
Sheryl will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by her loving husband of 39 years Gerry; her son Kurt; her sisters Gail Sulek and Yyvonne Balanecki; and numerous relatives and friends.
Sheryl was predeceased by her son Scott; her mother Viola Heikkila; and her father Wilbert Heikkila.
Friends and family would describe Sheryl as an upbeat, selfless, loving individual. She loved going for walks around the seawalls at Stanley Park and White Rock and at the local baseball diamond where she lived in Abbotsford. She cherished quality time with those she cared about, playing cards, cheering on the Blue Jays, and going out for luncheon dates with her friends.
Sheryl was born in Medicine Hat, Alberta, grew up in Manybeffies and graduated from high school in Edmonton. She met Gerry in 1965 and they married on September 3, 1966. She was blessed with two lovely sons Kurt Daniel (1973), Scott Donavin (1976). A career choice led the family from the Edmonton area to Kamloops in 1981. Sheryl helped out with the family business while raising the boys until the house was empty in 1996. Sheryl and Gerry then moved to Abbotsford to be near their son Kurt in 2004.
A service will be held at 2pm on February 25 , 2006 at the Kamloops Alliance Church (233 Fortune Drive, Kamloops, B.C.) There will be a gathering after for family and friends, catered by the K40 and Kinettes; all are welcome to stay.
Sheryl?s ashes will be placed next to Scott in the Hillside Cemetery in Kamloops. We would like to take this time to thank each and everyone for all the cards, flowers, fruit baskets and support we had during this trying time.
We the family would like to thank the staff at Surrey Memorial Hospital and the Mission Hospice for all the tender loving care they gave our Sheryl.
