Sylvia Ruby (Croney) Elliott

Loving Mom, Gram, and Great Gram
We are very sad to announce the passing of Ruby Elliott on November 18, 2007, in her home in Merritt, B.C.
Ruby was predeceased by her loving husband, Sid on June 27, 1986.
Ruby was born in Brook Cottage, Stanford Rivers, Essex, England to John and Constance Croney. She later married Sid and moved to Canada, first Britannia Beach, then to Clinton where they became business owners.
She is survived by her children, Sydney (Elvin), Jane (John), Bill (Linda) and Sue (Gil), along with 12 grandchildren and 10 greatgrands, all of whom brought great joy to her heart, and an instant smile to her face. She will also be sadly missed by the many extra grands and greatgrands she accumulated along the way.
Ruby served many hours volunteering for various groups such as OORP and the Legion. There was a great void left in both organizations when she felt the need to resign.
Ruby?s greatest love and one of her proudest accomplishments was her family. She would sit for hours sharing a pot of tea, solving problems, sharing hopes and fears, and just listening when you needed to be listened to. At the end of your visit you were sent off with one of the best hugs you could ever receive! What we wouldn?t give for one more cup of tea and one more hug.
A memorial service was held for Ruby at St. John?s United Church in Clinton on Saturday, November 24, 2007.
