Victor Messmer Obituary
Victor Peter Messmer of Kamloops, BC passed away on October 27, 2004 at 80 years of age after a short battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving children Dianna (Eric) Giesbrecht of Sorrento, BC and Charlene (Gary) Luedke of Vancouver, BC. He was also a Special Dad #2 to Barb (Eugene) Faye and their children Michele and Troy. Also left with treasured memories are grandchildren Kyle Petrie and Alicia and Bradley Luedke, siblings Herb (Irene), Earl (Marie) and Beatrice Henderson, nieces and nephews, Mitchell, Dean, Arlen, Andrea, Marion, Sandra, Lyle and Teresa and their families. Predeceased by his beloved wife, Elaine, father Emest and mother Teresa.
Victor was born on October 16, 1924 in Westlock, AB. His family then homesteaded in Barrhead, AB. The family then moved to BC where Victor enlisted with the Air Force. He served in Snag, Yukon - Smith River Airport and Watson Lake Airport. Upon leaving the services he met and married Elaine. They raised their family in Kamloops, where he and his brothers Herb and Earl ran a number of businesses. Upon retirement he and Elaine moved to Sorrento in 1985 and returned to Kamloops in 1999, where they resided until their passing.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to Dr. O'Connell, Dr. McDonald and all of the staff at the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice House, you are all truly angels.
The Funeral Service will take place at 1.00 p.m. on Friday, November 5, 2004 in the Kamloops Funeral Home Chapel, 285 Fortune Drive with Reverend Dawne Taylor officiating. Following the service Vic will be laid to rest at Hillside Cemetery.
