William Thiessen Obituary

The pearly gates were opened

A gentle voice said ?come?

And with farewells unspoken

He gently entered home

September 20, 1947 to June 2, 2008

On June 2, 2008, while peacefully sleeping, our most beloved husband, father, brother, friend and son, gently left us for a better place. For all of us, you left a void never to be filled, but you also left us with your wisdom, your beautiful free-spirited personality, and your eternal optimism. Your beautiful eyes and smile will never by forgotten and heaven will be graced by your presence.

Bill was born on September 20, 1947, in Biggar, Saskatchewan the 3rd of five brothers, to Abram and Mary Thiessen. They later moved to Saskatchewan and then to Warman, Saskatchewan. On September 28 1968 he married the love of his life, Evelina, and on September 28, 1969 with baby Rhonda on the way, moved to Salmon Arm, B.C. then to Vernon, and finally on to Kamloops, where he made his home for the rest of his life. Bill and Evelina had three beautiful children and would have been married 40 years on September 28, 2008. While in Kamloops he built many homes with his brothers and was highly regarded in the profession. Then about 10 year ago, he decided to change jobs and go rock crushing with his son in law Curt and younger son Jeff. This meant a lot of time away from home, but he loved his work and who he worked with.

Bill was the most loving husband and father. He always said even if he had nothing else, he was he richest man in the world with his family. And he knew how much he was loved by us too.

Bill leaves to mourn his loving wife and soul mate, Evelina; his best friends: his children Rhonda Jean (Curt) Ginter, Ronald James (Ramona) Thiessen and Jeffery Shaun (Leanne) Thiessen. Also his beloved mother, Mary Thiessen, dear brothers Peter (Lisa), Don (Dorothy) and Ed, brother in law John (Myrna), Pete (Rosella) and Ben (Marge) and a dear mother in law Katharina Siemens, also many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was predeceased by his grandparents, his father Abram in 1990, his brother Arnie in 2004 and father in law John Remple in 1998. Bill was a Master at all he did, he loved hunting and fishing with his beloved sons and brothers and long deep discussions with his beautiful Rhonda. He loved to build furniture and he learned all about plants and flowers from his green thumb wife. He loved all his kids in law as if they were his own. May God grant you a beautiful mansion that you didn?t have to build, and love all around you and in the by & by we will again be together. Till then you will be our star in the night sky, our sun during the day, and may the breezes bring whispers of your love and happiness to us, and ours to you!

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 9, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Calvary Community Church, 1205 Rogers Way with Pastor Don Maione officiating.

Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
