George GOW Obituary

September 25, 1932 - April 20, 2023

Passed peacefully at Mill Creek Care Center on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at age 90. Beloved husband of 71 years to Joan "Joannie" Gow (nee Prendergast). Loving father to George R. Gow Jr. (Liz), Cynthia Jane Gow (Bobbi-Jo), grandfather to Sheena (Darryl), Keely (Kris) and Caitlin. Great-grandfather to six. George will be missed by his sister Marion (Danny), sister-in-law Ivy Taylor and his many nieces and nephews.
George spent his early days working for A.V. Roe, later managing Cedar Grove mobile home park, Peel Board of Education and Avis car rental. Over the years George was involved in the ACCC, Bethesda United Church and with Joan at his side a Livery (Limousine) business for 17 years.
The family would like to thank the staff at Mill Creek Care Center, Dr. Anderson and especially 2E, for their hard work and special attention for George.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Dear Joan and family - your dear George/father/grandfather was very special to me over many, many years at Bethesda, and even in recent years when you had retired to Innisfil.
My heartfelt sympathy to all of you. I would love to attend a Celebration of Life for George. With love from Laurie.

Well cousin George, they say when you get to Heaven you revert to a best younger version of when you were in your prime. That being so, I feel sorry for all the girls you'll be chasing...but not half as sorry as I'll feel for you when Joan gets up there and finds out about your shenanigans !!! I, like so many will miss you. You were a very good man, and I was always proud to call you my cousin and my Friend.
