1936-2023
With deep sadness, Wolfgang Simon, of Mississauga, ON, in his 87th year, suddenly passed away on Friday, April 21, 2023 at Mississauga Hospital surrounded by his family. Wolfgang was born in 1936 in Gelsenkirchen, Germany. He served in the Artillery Regiment in Germany. He was a European trained Mechanic that immigrated to Canada in 1957 and owned his own mechanic shop, M&W General Auto Repairs in Mimico, ON. He was an extremely trusted Mechanic by his clientele, whom many, became friends. He was a long-time member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Long Branch location. He was a private and quiet person. Wolf treasured his trips with his partner across Canada and into Alaska, camping along the way and to North Carolina where they had a trailer. In his retirement, he enjoyed gardening, bird watching, reading and puzzles and sitting in the warm weather and absorbing the suns rays.
He is survived by his daughter Lisa (spouse Bruce), loving partner Margaret (son Michael), his siblings Marie, Peter and Ute and grandchildren William and Matthew as well as his beloved cousin, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
He is pre-deceased by his father Hans, mother Otillia, and sister Ursula.
He is now on a journey to waters that we cannot see. We know he is free from pain and is floating peacefully. He will be forever missed. Until we meet again.
As per his wishes, cremation has already taken place, and the family will grieve privately.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
