John FARR Obituary

Passed away at South Muskoka Memorial Hospital on January 20, 2023, in his 85th year. Predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Ethel Farr, sisters Jean (Clark), Margaret (Calder), Mary (Needham), and brother Joey. He leaves behind his children Geoffrey (Shelagh), Sheila Norman, and Craig (Gretchen), and his adored grandchildren Elizabeth, Emma, Gwyneth, George, Ewan, Anne, Bryce, Henry, Amaryn, and Quinn. John was born in Stouffville, Ontario, and grew up in Orillia, Ontario. He was a graduate of the University of Western Ontario and Osgoode Hall Law School. John practiced as a lawyer for 16 years and later took up teaching law in Peterborough at Sir Sandford College. He moved to Bracebridge in 1988, where he was a freelance conveyancer and worked in the land registry office. At the same time, he built up a paralegal business in small claims, landlord and tenant, and traffic court. John was happiest at his home in Bracebridge where he was a proud resident for over 30 years. Boating Lake Muskoka in particular brought him great joy. A visitation in John's honour will be held at Reynolds Funeral Home on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Messages of condolence and memories can be shared at www.reynoldsfuneral.com. I am sorry to learn of John Farr´s passing. My father Doug Farr was his cousin and they both shared some common experiences. My dad was forever great full for the love and affection from his uncle Joe and aunt Ethel and his Farr cousins and we made the trek many times to Orillia to visit. My sincere condolences.

I am so sorry to hear of your dad´s passing. I worked for John at the law firm in Orillia for 10 years. He was a kind and caring employer. I remember when you three kids would come to the office for something. He was so proud being a dad. Treasure your memories and I hope they bring you a smile. Best regards. Lori (McIsaac) Bunn.
