YEARLEY, John William Passed away peacefully at his home in Yearley on September 4, 2017. John was born at Yearley on May 27, 1936 to parents Rupert and Margaret Yearley. He married Vera (nee Whitehead) on October 12, 1953 in Huntsville and together they raised five children. In his younger years John cut Christmas trees, pulp wood, worked in saw mills and did construction work. He started working as an apprentice, then got his Plumber's License at Parrot's Plumbing and Heating. In the 70's he started his own plumbing and heating business with his sons. When he retired he moved to Yearley to the log house he built and had used as a hunting camp for many years. He always loved hunting, fishing, travelling and cutting his own wood. John and Vera were members of the Stisted Fall Fair and for years John sat as a director on their board. Every year he supplied the rope for the tug-of-war. He enjoyed dancing and was a member, then president of the Yearley Seniors Club. John will always be remembered for his love of family and his stories or jokes that he always had at the ready. Beloved husband of the late Vera, Dear father of Linda (Doug) Hayes of Novar, Debbie (Dave) Mechetuck of Campbellford, Bill of Yearley, David (Janice) of Huntsville. Predeceased by his son Jack and daughter-in-law Peggy. Loving grand- father of nine, Great-grandfather of ten, Great-great-grandfather of four. Predeceased by his grandson Jack. All were cherished by John. Dear brother of Mary Grasley and Norm (June). Predeceased by his sisters Violet Bigelow and Sadie Aitcheson. A Graveside service will be held at Yearley Union Cemetery on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. Reverend Vito Booth officiating. Reception to follow at the Aspdin Community Centre. Memorial Gifts to the Stisted Fall Fair or the
