It is with profound sadness that the family of Michael Seymour announces his peaceful passing on May 26, 2023, at the age of 77. He will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his wife of 55 years, Joy (nee Ryckman), children Tim (Krista), Tammy (Norm Mark), Tania (Matt Tindall), and Trixie his beloved chihuahua. He leaves behind his grandchildren Samantha, Benjamin, Raven, and Thomas, and his sister Freda. He is predeceased by sisters Grace, Joyce, Barb, and Betty. Michael was born in Huntsville on February 24, 1946, to Fred and Elsie (nee Ferguson). He grew up in Newholm and Baysville where he met his wife, Joy. Following a short stint in the city they moved to Baysville and built a home and raised three children, whom he loved dearly. He worked for the Township of Lake of Bays as a heavy equipment operator, snowplough driver, and eventually a supervisor. He retired in 2006 at which time he dedicated his life to his family, especially his wife and grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held at Bethune United Church on June 10, 2023, at 1 p.m. with interment at Baysville Community Cemetery, followed by a reception at Thomas Hall, Bethune United Church. Memorial donations may be made in Michael's name to Hope Huntsville Palliative Care. The family would like to send a special thank you to the staff of Huntsville District Memorial Hospital specifically to Drs Erven and Harrold and nurse Stephanie for their care and compassion.
