Shirley DORGE Obituary

December 14, 1934 - March 3, 2021 Sadly on March 3 our mom, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away at the age of 86 at Spencer House Nursing home in Orillia. She was a member of the legion where she thoroughly enjoyed country music, dancing up a storm and was also an avid reader. In her younger years Shirley was a member of the Hill and Gully Riders snowmobile club in Port Sydney where she met and became friends with many. Mom always had an open door policy with all our friends, family and neighbours. She will be truly missed for her big smile, unique personality and red hair! She was loved by all that met her. In the past few years Shirley resided at Castle Peak (Bracebridge), where she once again met many new people and friends. She enjoyed the many activities such as cards, pub night, bingo, Wii bowling and exercise. We would like to thank the staff at Castle Peak, and the many friends she met there while enjoying the last few years of her life. She will be sadly missed by her children Neil (Edith), Sherry (Erik), Scott , Sandra (Greg). Shirley was predeceased by sons Kirk (Elizabeth) and Danny. Proud grandmother of Dustin, Dillon, Jessalyn, Jasmine, Ryan, Jacob, Riley, Shirlee-Rae, Michael, Ryan, Sheena, Shayna, Jacki and great-grandmother to many. Loving sister to Barry (Maureen), Randy (Nancy), Dale (Sue), Fred, Bill, Brian and Brenda She will be missed by her many nieces and nephews.

Aunt Shirley was a wonderfully spunky lady who loved laughing. I enjoyed my visits with her at the Manor and Castle Peak over the past few years. (Barry & Maureen’s daughter). I’ll miss seeing her.

I’m so sorry to hear about your mom’s passing. I always enjoyed running into her in town and having a chat. Usually a long chat! She was a very sweet, friendly and funny lady! It was always a pleasure seeing her. My condolences to all your family.

This is the best picture of your Mom. I can hear her laughing and telling a story. She was fun and a pleasure to know. I can’t remember not knowing her as she was friends with my Mom Connie and they had many adventures. Life was hard when they were young but I remember laughter and good natured fun.
I feel blessed that I got to share your Mom! Please accept my heart felt condolences on a life well lived.
