I remember Dan from ponderosa days and his playing for the generals. Went water skiing at their trailer in Haliburton. Good memories from days gone by. Sorry to hear of his passing. Knew him when he dated Sandi. Sincere condolences to the family.

Always enjoyed hanging out with Dan and Wade when we were younger. Admired his legendary open ice hits and shot when on the ice. I will always be a fan. Rest in peace Dan!

My condolences to Dan's family.
I remember working with Dan at Ponderosa, he was wearing a fedora hat, I took the hat off his head and ran. He chased me through the restaurant, I bolted through the front door, unfortunately Dan missed the handle and pushed on the glass and his arm went all the way through the broken window pane. I believe he had to get 40 stitches on his forearm. I told him he would never forget me.
Reality is he probably did....lol as this happened in our teenage days. I will have a drink and put on my hat in rememberance of you. Cheers my old friend.

Taken too soon. While many, many years passed by that I´ve seen Dan, back in the day he was a great friend. We always wondered whatever happened to Dan and was never able to reconnect with him or his siblings. Nicholson Family was wonderful. Great memories from late teens, early 20´s. Flood of memories came back seeing this obituary and knowing that Dan was pre deceased by his sisters. Heartbreaking! Sending condolences to all family and friends. Rest in peace.

Danny and I were childhood friends as we grew up together on Rosehill Blvd in Oshawa.
I knew all his family very well and enjoyed being around them as a young boy.
Danny was a great hockey player when he was with the Oshawa Generals.
Not too many would want to take him on.
He was tough as nails on the ice.
I am almost 2 years younger than Danny and I always looked up to him as an older friend and also as a talented hockey player.
I'm really sorry to hear that Danny passed away and I send all my condolences to Bill and his family.
