John BEAK Obituary

Proud resident of Peterborough for 57 years, long-time Employee of G.E. and devoted member of the Peterborough Rugby Club for over 50 years ~ Passed away peacefully on Monday, November 28, 2022 at the Peterborough Regional Health Center in his 82nd year. John was the beloved husband of Sheila for over 57 years. Loving father of Stewart and his wife Jenna. Proud Grandpa of Maeve and Lyla. Dear brother of Ann Dodds, Paul Beak, and the late Colin Beak. John was a man of no pretense, who made friends from all over the world and every walk of life. Cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life will be held in the New Year at the Peterborough Rugby Club, where guests will be encouraged to gather, tell stories and laugh, as would have been his wish. In John's memory, a donation to the Peterborough Rugby Club (https://forms.peterborough.ca/City-of-Peterborough-Donation-Form ... Please select Peterborough Rugby Club in the drop down) or to a Charity of Your Choice that would benefit the Community would be much appreciated.

As a member of the Peterborough Rugby Club I can say John was such a devoted guy to the club and quite frankly it's members, young and older. I had the pleasure of attending a rugby tour to France in 2006 where as John on one particular day said at a party following a game in the Pyrenees (Neanderthal caves no less) after having a wonderful encounter with French locals & of course the rest of us rugby family and I quote " This has been one of the best days of my life" Actually it was one of the best days of many of our lives and John sure helped in that area. He was so kind towards people disadvantaged and always helped there. A very good man I am honoured to have known. He will be missed but not soon forgotten for sure Sheila.

We always enjoyed John at our annual neighbourhood "dos" every summer. He will be missed.
