PIERSON, Jonathan (Jon) We are devastated at the sudden passing of our beloved Jon on February 18, 2019 in Peterborough. Jon is profoundly loved and missed by his large blended family, especially his mother Falina, father Jim, stepfather Dave, and brother Will. His dear friend Bingbin mourns with us and has provided much comfort and support to the family. We are grateful and buoyed by the outpouring of love from Jon's many friends. He brought joy and light to so many people. Jon was an avid outdoorsman and child of nature. He completed the Outdoor Adventure Skills program at Fleming College and put it to good use in his personal and professional life. A well-known member of Peterborough's outdoor adventure community, Jon enjoyed sharing his passion and expertise for the outdoors during his years working at Wild Rock. He was never happier than when paddling and portaging. Falina is sustained now by the happy memories of the trips they took together as mother and son. Jon had recently spent several months with his stepdad and extended family in Pincher Creek, Alberta. We know this was a very happy time for both Jon and the family. Dave especially is so grateful for these months they spent together. Jon's infectious laugh and beautiful disposition drew so many to him. We were all graced by his presence in our lives for much too short a time. Jon's life will be celebrated on Sunday, March 3rd at 3:00 p.m. at the Canadian Canoe Museum in Peterborough. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Canoe Museum can be made on-line or at the museum in the name of Jonathan Pierson. Details about the event are provided on a webpage we have set up to commemorate Jon at
www.jonathanpierson.com where you may also contribute stories, pictures, and messages. We will remember Jon throughout our lives, every time we dip a paddle, build a bonfire, or go for a midnight snowshoe under the moon. Our beautiful Jon will live forever in our memories, and in our hearts.
