Condolences to the Axcell and Gibson families. Larry was my first principal at Apsley Central and we commuted together three hours daily. Those hours were in retrospect a master class for a rookie teacher in classroom management,home/school relations and separating the minutia from the big stuff. During my career I was often reminded of those discussions and they usually served me well. An admirable leader and a life well lived.

Condolences to the Gibson and Axcell families. Larry was my first principal at Apsley Central school in1971. Commuting together from Peterborough meant three hours daily of lively discussion re politics, sports and news of the day. It was also a master class for me as a rookie to learn about classroom management, home/school relations and how to separate the minutia from the truly big stuff. Throughout my career I was frequently reminded of all that I had learned from Larry. I am sorry for the loss but salute a life well lived.

I always loved being in the company of Larry. His sense of humour and his positive outlook on life was a pleasure to enjoy.

I will remember our first meeting when he and Jean joined our Chez teaching team many summers ago. It was also a pleasure travelling to many foreign countries with the two of them.

He will be missed but never forgotten.

My thoughts and prayers are with you Jean and your family at this difficult time.

I had the pleasure of working with Larry at Chemong PS. I am the proud owner of a piece of his stained glass, a beautiful lamp, which I cherish. RIP Larry, gone but not forgotten. Condolences to Jean and family.
