Lorne MacKENZIE Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lorne John Strafford MacKenzie on December 24, 2021 at the age of 88 with his family by his side. Loving husband of 61 years to Marion Ruth MacKenzie (née Brown). Devoted father to Robert (Brenda) and Deborah (Christoph), and cherished grandfather of Zachary and Kelsey MacKenzie. Predeceased by his parents John (Jack) and Clara MacKenzie. Survived by his children, brother-in-law Bob (Sandra) Brown, and niece Jennifer Brown. Even as a long-time employee of Hydro One, he continued his love of farming on the family farm in Verulam well into his 70's before he and Marion moved to Bobcaygeon. He still enjoyed his love of nature and would take daily trips to his ranch in Verulam. The family are grateful to the palliative care unit at the Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay. Due to the current covid concerns, a private family funeral will be held with a celebration of life planned for the Spring. If desired, memorial donations to Prostate Cancer Canada, Providence United Church, or Ducks Unlimited would be appreciated by the family. Donations may be made by contacting THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, 6 Helen Street, Bobcaygeon, online at www.hendrenfuneralhome.com or by calling 705-738-3222.
