MAHON, Neal James - August 3, 1933 - September 17, 2017 (avid hockey player and former employee of Bell Canada for 34 years) It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Neal at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre in Peterborough on Sunday, September 17, 2017. Neal, in his 85th year, was the loving husband of Evelyn (nee Isherwood) for 63 years. Much loved father of Brian (Marian) Mahon of California, Shirley (Tom) Lucas of Downeyville, Darrel (Colleen) Mahon of Downeyville, MaryJane (Mark) Williams of Lindsay, Kevin (Marla) Mahon of Reaboro and Ken (Trish) Mahon of Virginia. Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Addie (Jeremy), Nathan, Bailey, Joe, Hannah (Rob), Quinn, Jessica, Meg, Zachary, Danielle, Mackenzie, Madison, Thomas and by his great grandchildren Lachlan, Griffin, Sawyer, Thatcher and Urban. Predeceased by his parents Thomas and Barbara Mahon (nee Kelly), by his sisters Jean and Phoebe, by his brother Desmond and by his brother-in-law Andy Wayda. Survived by his brother Roger (Yvonne) Mahon and by his sisters Margaret Wayda and Elaine (Gary) Brown. Fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews, by his friend Ross Howard and by his many other close friends. In keeping with Neal's wishes, cremation has taken place. LUKE'S CHURCH in Downeyville on Thursday, September 21 at 11:00 A.M. Interment later at Combermere Cemetery. Parish prayers were offered at the funeral home on Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 P.M.
