Patrick HICKEY Obituary

Passed away peacefully at Peterborough Hospice on July 10th at the age of 57 after a three-year battle with cancer, which he fought relentlessly.

Loving husband and best friend to Lisa (nee Mazziotti) for 31 years. Devoted father to Mekayla, Lucas and Owen. Treasured son to Edward Hickey and predeceased by his mother Mary (nee Cavanagh). Pat will be sadly missed by his sister Pam Grady (Ken) and their children Emily, Kenny and Nicholas as well as his brother Peter (Stacy) and children Cameron, Kalyn and Austin.

Adored son-in-law to Lidia Mazziotti (nee Flaminio) and the late Gennaro Mazziotti. Brother-in-law to Angela Dekoker (Neil) and Mario Mazziotti. Pat will be missed by their children Neil, Anna and Rosa Dekoker along with Kassandra and Mackenzie Mazziotti.

Pat was a highly regarded member of the Ontario Provincial Police for 31 years where he served with pride, professionalism and honour. Although, he worked full time as a police officer and excelled in those duties, his true passion was farming. This was deep rooted at a very young age as Pat was raised on a family farm in Ennismore. After retiring from the OPP, Pat continued to pursue his love of farming and took pride in both his livestock and crops by producing "a quality product at a reasonable price".

Above all, Pat was a true friend to so many. He was often called upon for advice and guidance; hence, the acronym WWPD (What Would Pat Do?). Pat was a role model, mentor to many and an overall true gentleman. However, spending time with his family was of utmost importance to Pat... Sunday dinners included.

Family and Friends will be received at the HIGHLAND PARK FUNERAL CENTRE, 2510 Bensfort Rd., Peterborough on Friday, July 16th, 2021 from 5:00-9:00pm. Please register online by visiting Patrick's obituary at www.highlandparkfuneralcentre.com to register. All guests are required to wear a face covering. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, there will be a Private Family Funeral Mass held at ST. MARTIN OF TOURS ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, Ennismore, ON. In memory of Patrick and in lieu of flowers, donations to Peterborough Hospice or Prostate Cancer Research would be appreciated by the family.
