Richard MORGAN Obituary

Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at the age of 78 at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre, Palliative Care Unit. Rick leaves behind his loving wife Sandy, sons Steve (Maria), Todd (Wendy), stepsons Craig (Tracy) and Mark. Loving grandfather of Shawn, Derek, Sarah (Andrew), Michael, Ben, Adrien, Kendra (Sam), Douglas, Bryan, and great grandfather to Felix and Gus. Rick will also leave behind his brother Doug (Anne) and a nephew Jeff (Evelyn). Predeceased by daughter Kelly (Kevin) in November 2020. Rick's interest in the outdoors began at an early age with guidance from his family at their cottage on Davis Lake. His love of fishing, hunting and nature led him to a successful 25 year career with the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters. After his retirement in 2001 he continued to host the Angler and Hunter television show for the next five years. Winters were spent with his wife Sandy at their home in Florida where he continued to fish for "the big bass" and enjoyed golfing with friends. Family and friends will always remember him for the gentle, caring, kind and humorous person he was. The family would like to express our thanks to Doctors Mallory and Morelli and the health team in the Palliative Care Unit. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date when COVID-19 restrictions are lifted. Arrangements entrusted to Peterborough Cremation Services.

Michael and I want to extend our condolences to Sandy and her family at this sad time. We shared a 45 year long love of nature, conservation, and art with Rick. He was always supportive of my artwork and we collaborated on many fundraisers. His OFAH leadership was responsible for furthering Ontario's wildlife conservation goals. Rick was a kind and generous man and we will miss his friendship.

To Rick's wife and family,
Rick was an amazing person. I had one of my first Summer jobs working for Rick at the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters when the office was on Charlotte Street, top floor of one of the buildings.
It was a great Summer and I loved working there. The staff were so helpful and friendly. Thanks Rick for believing in me and giving me my first start at an office job. I am now a Law Clerk with Fox Law.
May your Rest In Peace
