Roy C. Dawson

Peacefully passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at the Grand River Hospital Freeport Palliative Care Unit at the age of 94 years.
Beloved father of Dan Dawson and his wife Janice of New Liskeard, and Wynne Dawson of Kitchener. Forever remembered by his grandchildren Bradley (Angela), Tyler (Katie), Andrew (Courtney), Ashley, Tim (Wilhelmina) and Tammy (Luc) also fondly remembered by his seven great-grandchildren.
Survived by his sisters Jessie Bigelow, Margaret (Robert) Rehder, Frances Dawson, Dorothy (Stan) Fletcher and brother George (Barb) Dawson.
Predeceased by his wife Melba, parents Bruce and Lillian Dawson and by his brother Brent (Mary) Dawson and by his sister Mary (Harold) Lunney and Anne (George) Smith.
Roy will be remembered for his devotion to his family. His love of gardening started at an early age and continued throughout his life providing fresh vegetables to all. Roy retired 37 years ago after completing 35 years of dedicated service with the Ontario Provincial Police.
A Celebration of Life for Roy and Melba Dawson, who died during COVID restrictions, will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at Memory Gardens Funeral Home 2723 Victoria St. N. Breslau 519-904-0400. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Funeral service at 2:00 p.m. followed by a reception and fellowship.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke foundation or The Diabetes Society in their remembrance would be appreciated.
