Barbara PIRO Obituary

It is with sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Barbara Piro, surrounded by her family, at the Greater Niagara General Hospital on Monday January 10, 2022 at the age of 75. Barbara left us to be with her heavenly Father after a life of courage, perseverance and dedication to her family. Beloved wife of 50 years to Lorenzo Piro. Cherished mother of Vittoria (Frank) and Lorenzo Jr. and loving Nonna of Frankie Jr. Dearly loved daughter of Betty (the late Ted) and sister of Larry (Jackie) Sobanski. She will be fondly remembered by her nieces Victoria (Tyler), Maxine (Dallas) and nephew Christopher (Donna). Barbara was a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of the Scapular Church. The family wishes to thank the staff of GNGH and the home care PSWs for their exceptional care of Barbara. Respecting the restrictions of COVID-19 including the requirement for face masks, social distancing, maximum occupancy limits and pre-booked appointments (by calling the funeral home 905-358-3513 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.), friends are invited to join the family at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. Niagara Falls, visiting Friday January 14, 2022 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Service in celebration of her life will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Cremation will follow, with the Rite of Committal at a later date in Fairview Mausoleum. In memory of Barbara, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of the Scapular Church, and would be appreciated. Online condolences at pattersonfuneralhome.com

I am so sorry to read this and just find out of the passing of Barbara. My deepest condolences to Lorenzo, Vittoria, Frank and Lorenzo Jr. and Frankie Jr. I really enjoyed all of our talks when she came in to see me. She was a beautiful person and cared so much about all of you. Her family was her world. I will always remember her smile and her ability to make me laugh. May Barbara rest in peace. No doubt that she will be watching down on all of you and I hope that will bring you some comfort.
