Betty BAKKER Obituary

Passed away peacefully on Friday, January 13, 2023, at Niagara Falls Hospital in her 97th year. Beloved wife of Rudy (predeceased in 2013). Cherished Mother of Brian (Lori), Step-Mother of Elisabeth-Els (Jack) and Jake (Janet). Loving Nana of Kristen, Carly, Jalen, Josh, and Amanda. She will be greatly missed by all of her great grandchildren. Betty worked in the insurance business for over 35 years including CK Bradley, Williams Sproule and The Verge Group and was passionately active with her Church and Choir at Grace Anglican Church. The Family would like to Thank all of the staff of the Niagara Health Group especially the Rainbow Unit in Niagara Falls. The Family will receive visitors at the George Darte Funeral Chapel, 585 Carlton Street, on Tuesday, January 17th, from 6-8pm and Wednesday, January 18th from 10-11:30am followed by a Memorial service at 11:30am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.

So sorry to hear of Betty´s passing she was such a great lady and always a great friend to my Mum thru the years.

We are so sad to learn of Betty´s passing. She (and Rudy) was an amazing friend when we moved to St. Catharines in the late 80´s. Hers was the lovely smile I first saw every day when working at Verge. You were always welcome at her home for muffins or her famous coffee cake. She taught me how to "put up" pickles, and when you thought you were done with cucumbers, Rudy would come in with a laundry basket of more! Her grace, wisdom, generosity and friendship was such a gift. Our thoughts are with her family at this sad time.

I'm sorry to hear of Bettys passing. She was a lovely lady who always had time for a quick chat and a good laugh. I delivered Bettys medications for many years. You will be missed. Heaven has another angel.
