Joseph YACYSHYN Obituary

YACYSHYN, JOSEPH: It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Joseph Yacyshyn at the NHS St. Catharines Site on Monday, January 25, 2021 in his 83rd year. Loving father of Walter and Diana, Greg and Santina and Mark and Cheryl. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Kimberley Dawn (Adrian), Kara, Walter Joseph (Jennifer), Dean, Annalisa (Nathan), Amber (Charles) and Carter and his great grandchildren Chase and Mila, William, Blake and Rowan, and James and Evelyn. Fondly remembered by his sister, Pearl Hiebert and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his father, Jozen, his mother Melania, his stepfather Konrad, his sisters Olga Scott and Julie (Bill Horwood). Joe was the founder of Sand-Mark Sheet Metal Limited until he retired. He was very loyal to family, friends and his many business associates. He will always be remembered for the love he had for his family and his long-time friends and especially for his kindness and generosity. Dad had many hobbies fishing, camping, golfing, traveling and the occasional outing to the casino. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at NHS St. Catharines Site, as well as Tufford Manor staff and Bayshore staff for the great care they gave our dad for which we are truly grateful. Cremation has taken place. A private graveside service will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Alzheimer Society of Canada, The Hamilton Health Sciences or charity of your choice. I knew Joe for over 40 years and always had a great time working with him.
As a sheetmetal apprentice I learned a lot from Joe and always admired his kind heart and strong work ethic.
Rest in peace, old Friend

Joe was a kind, smart and generous person. He had such an even-keeled demeanour. I learned a great deal from working with him and for him. I will really miss his sense of humour. My condolences to his family

So sorry to hear about the passing of Joe. I served him breakfast for many years at the Fortis restaurant. He was one of my favourite people to serve. He will be greatly missed.
