Helen SANTEK Obituary
SANTEK, Helen Helen passed away peacefully, in her 91st year, with her family at her side. Dear wife of the late Vladimir Santek, beloved and precious mother of Krisie Martin (Kenny), Karen Haarbosch (Mike) and Annza Mascitelli (Mario). Amazing Grandma to all her ""little darlings"": Philip Martin (Tamera), Jenny Even (Jamie), David Martin (Kelly), Mila Cuviello (David), Marco Mascitelli (Carly), Kris Haarbosch (Laneagh) and Alex Haarbosch (Emily). Proud Baba of Lexie, Nicholas, Max, Evy, Remy and Jack. Predeceased by parents Vesalina and Alexander Koleshkoff and sisters Anna Hucajluk and Jean Slesar. Survived by sister-in-law Georgina Severinksy (John) and many nieces and nephews. Helen grew up in Thorold, married, and moved to Welland where she worked in the storehouse at Page Hersey for many years. She was a woman of many talents with her sewing, needlework, picture framing and woodwork, to name a few. No job was too big, no challenge too great, no destination too far to reach in her car. She was an active and proud member of the NDP, a fighter for social justice and a fierce champion of human rights, locally and internationally. Her intelligence (she was the original Google) was only preceded by her kindness. Her love for her family was boundless. Respecting her wishes, there are no funeral services. Those who knew her know she would rather give than receive. To honour Helen's character, please do a kind deed for a stranger, as she so often did.
