Johanna LENSON Obituary

Hanny Lenson, age 87, passed away peacefully May 16, 2023, at the Salvation Army Eventide Home in Niagara Falls, Ontario. She was born June 18, 1935, in Haarlem, Holland to Henrick and Johanna Kabel. The Kabel family moved to Allanburg, Ontario in 1954, where she met and married John Lenson in August 1957, who preceded her death in November 2019. Hanny was a generous and giving person as well as a multi-talented individual. Her passion was sewing, knitting and needlepoint and she shared this love by donating hundreds of knitted winter hats amongst the needy. Hanny was also very active volunteering in the community including the Allanburg Community Centre, Allanburg United Church, the Allanburg Women's Institute and was a Leader with Brownies and Girl Guides of Canada. She also enjoyed family time and hosted many family reunions in the back yard. Hanny is survived by her brother Pim Kabel, her three children and spouses Mark and Jian Lenson, Sandra and Al Sinnett, and Jacquie Lenson / Ron Poirier: plus, four grandchildren Alyssa Roy-Gayos, Kurtis Lenson, Jared Lenson and Derek Lenson. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the Salvation Army Eventide Home for their compassion and loving care. Donations may be made to Eventide or to a charity of one's choice.
