Joseph Vickers Obituary

Age 69 passed away peacefully, Joseph Vickers at McNally house in Grimsby, on January 31, 2023 cherished son of Josephine Vickers and the late Dr. Norman Vickers, of Beamsville, ON. Joe managed billiard rooms in Florida and St. Catharines before going to work for sears Canada in the appliance department. After retirement he delivered prescriptions for Shoppers Drug Mart. Joe valiantly battled cancer for two years, but sadly lost the struggle. His mother, uncles and aunts and cousins mourn his loss and will forever miss his smiling face and loving care. Joe was well known in St. Catharines as a champion pocket pool player and will be missed by his many team mates in that sport. Cremation has taken place and private interment will follow. I met joe through pool. Great guy .I later ended up working with him at Sears for 20 years. Very low key methodical at work and on the pool table .Spent lots of time talking pool and the Maple Leafs. In pool against Joe you miss you loose. Shocked to hear of his passing. Condolences to his friends and family.

I remember Joe as a friendly appliance associate at Sears - where I worked part time in the electronics department. We were a collegial group and enjoyed the occasional breakfast with several other associates at the Hudson´s Bay restaurant. I enjoyed his friendship and extend my condolences to his family and friends.

Joe helped us win this championship. He was our second line center and he was good. We were all extremely proud of this trophy, it was our last hurrah in the Beamsville minor hockey system.

I send my condolences to Joes family, a great man/a great friend and a legend when it comes pool. He taught me so many things on a pool table, it was always an honour to play against the professor. RIP Joe, forever missed.
