JUNKE, Mary Elizabeth Catharine (n? Coleman) October 31, 1922-April 17, 2018 Mary passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 in her 96th year at Albright Manor in Beamsville. Mary was predeceased by her husband Ross C. Junke and her son Jeffrey G. Junke; her sisters and their husbands: Patricia Gilmore (Thomas) of Montreal, Norah Douglas (Hugh) of Toronto, and Joan Craig (Keith) of Elliot Lake/ Toronto; her brother-in-law Peter Barker of Etobicoke and by Ross' brother Victor Junke (Pearl) of Virginia. Mary is the loved sister of Anne Barker (Etobicoke). Beloved mother of Karen (Robert Slater) Ottawa; James (Ingrid Giesebrecht) Ottawa; Douglas (Heather) Jordan Station; and Rosslyn (Robert Bradt) Barrie. Much loved Granny to Laura Beveridge (Justin) Vancouver; Alexander Slater (Sheena Warner) Ottawa; Vanessa Slater (Todd MacDonald) Uxbridge; Matthew Slater (Anjelien) Ottawa; C?line Junke (John Daley) San Francisco; Tyson Junke (Caroline Daigle), Montr?al; Meghan Junke (Tyler Evans) and Jeff Junke, Toronto; Sarah Bradt and Coleman Bradt, Barrie. Great-Gran of Dylan Beveridge, Chloe Slater, Luc and Callum Nelson, Anna and Gavin Slater. Mary is also remembered by her many nieces and nephews with whom she celebrated so many occasions. Mary lived a vital and full life and her family was fortunate to be part of her amazing legacy. She was honoured by the Province of Ontario for her exceptional volunteer and community-building activities in St. Catharines. She was politically active for most of her life at all levels of government. A special thanks to the staff at Albright Manor. A full tribute is posted at www.hulseandenglish.com. Visitation will be held May 15 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Hulse and English Funeral Home, 75 Church St., St. Catharines. A Memorial Service will be held May 16 at 11 a.m., at St. Thomas Anglican Church, 103 Ontario St., St. Catharines.
