Bill and family. I am so sorry for your loss. Mary Jo welcomed me as a colleague in ER with open arms. She was a superlative nurse.
Going to have to go and buy myself a lipstick in her honour. She always told me to make sure I had fresh lipstick on as I would never know when I was going to meet my next husband!
She is sorely missed

Ah, Mary Jo was always the 'ray of sunshine' with the happiest smile! She brightened everyone's day with no effort. As a nurse - you could not ask for a better one! As a golfer - you could not ask for more fun! My sympathies to you, Bill, and family.

Mary Jo was a wonderful mentor and friend during my time in ER at WLMH. She had such a warm heart and spice for life. I truly loved working with her and listening to all of her stories- about her cherished family, friends and of course years of nursing experiences. Dear Bill. Sending you love and hugs with sincerest sympathy. I will miss MJ so very much. Just knowing she was here in Grimsby was a comfort to the soul. She had a powerful spirit full of determination, logic and action. She made me feel valued and appreciated at work for 20 years at WLMH. I first met Mary Jo many years ago when I was fortunate to receive her care in the ER. Her calm and compassionate demeanour was so reassuring during a difficult time.
More recently, I had the pleasure of visiting several times with Mary Jo at a mutual friends house. She was so full of life and an amazing story teller!

I have so many memories of Mary Jo as I spent a quarter of my teenage life at your home. She had a huge personality for such a wee women. She was a real spitfire. Mary Jo was the smiling face so many West Lincoln, Lincoln and Grimsby residents hoped to see when they came into the ER. She knew everyone and put patients and their families at ease with her familiar and calming conversation. A master at her craft, she flew into crisis mode with expert precision. Countless lives were saved over her 50+ years in the nursing profession. To us younger nurses,she was a strong and righteous role model who, through example, made us all better. We have lost a beautiful human. Mary Jo's quick wit and sassy smile lit up our world. My condolences to her family who also were lucky enough to call her wife and mother.

I am so sorry to her about your mom and wife. I, like Amy, have so many awesome memories of Mary Jo. So much personality in such a wee lady. I loved making fun of her, for her love of ironing everything on planet earth! I didn't see her often once we all grew up and were off doing our own thing; but when I did, I always enjoyed catching up with her.

Bill, Beth and Alison: there are times in our life that we fondly remember those really special people. She was one. Still, I remember my Dad's word's and so clearly so when he saw his final days in front of him. It was a time that was before his legacy is well remembered. ... "Mourn for me because you must, but briefly so. Life is for the living."
I believe she would agree with him.
