CUDMORE, Reverend Maurice Earl Went to Glory, surrounded by his family at the Haldimand War Memorial Hospital, Dunnville on Friday, February 1, 2019 in his 92nd year. He is joyously celebrating in the presence of his Saviour, Jesus Christ. He is reunited with his precious wife of 49 years, Lorrie (Christensen) 2002. Predeceased by grandson, Summer Brochu and great-granddaughter, Aubrey Wooldridge. Cherished by his dear special friend, Joyce Northey. Cherished father of Colleen Vaughn (Charlie), Connie Minor (Dan), Bruce Cudmore (Lucille), Danny Cudmore (Stephanie) and Christine Brochu (Ren?). Proud and awesome grandpa to: Marisa Stefaniuk (Paul), Ashleigh Vaughn, Bruce Cudmore (Kelly), Bob Cudmore (Sarah), Carrie Wooldridge (Kenny), Jordan Minor (Natalie), Brenna Sheeley (Adam), Rosemary Beaubien (Fred), Cameron Minor (Wilma), Rochelle Andres (Joey), Lauren Lewis (Russell), Geoff Vaughn, Brielle Casey, Jocelyn Minor, Ben Cudmore, David Vaughn (Jillian), Nathan Vaughn (Grace), Merrilee Legault (Paul), Jacob Vaughn, Austin Brochu, Amaris Cudmore and Zachary Cudmore. Loved by his 29 great-grandchildren. He was also ""Grandpa Moe"" to Grace, Josh, Louisa and Nora. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and loved ones. Predeceased by his parents Bruce and Louise Cudmore, sister Joyce Mallory (Lee) and brother Bernard Cudmore (Marg). Survived by sister Grace Hobson (Elton). Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, he moved to Ontario at a young age. Maurice graduated from Central Bible College in Springfield, Missouri with a Degree in Pastoral Studies. He went on to pastor churches in Hamburg, New Rochelle, Brooklyn, the Bronx, Hempstead, all in New York and then came back to Canada and pastored in Trenton, Ontario. He was also Interim pastor at several churches during his retirement. Maurice was a skilled musician playing the piano, trumpet, marimba, accordion, Ocarina and the 'Banjo' on all his grandchildren! He loved to praise and worship His Lord in song and led his family to faith in Jesus through his loving example. He loved time with his family playing sports (especially golf), games, telling jokes, writing poems and making people laugh. He was a generous, loving soul who, to his family, think of him as their greatest encouragement. The family would also like to thank the Dunnville Hospital Palliative Care Staff for their kindness and care for our dad. Following a private family committal, visitation will take place Tuesday, February 5th from 12:30 - 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church , 165 Sydney Place, Welland.
