Passed away peacefully at Shalom Manor at the age of 98 on Sunday, September 18, 2022. Predeceased by first wife Marion (2005), he is survived by his son Ronald (Robin), granddaughter Veronica, and great-grandson James. He is also survived by Ann, his wife, as well as extended family: Sheila, Neil (Terry), Gary (MaryJane), Fred, Patrick, Annette (Don) and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Ray was born in Medicine Hat, Alberta on July 24, 1924. He served overseas in the RCAF during WW2. He moved to Ontario in 1952 and has lived in Grimsby since 1964. He joined the Royal Canadian Legion in Medicine Hat in 1947 and has been a long-time member of Branch 127 Grimsby. He was one of the original contributors to the building of Shalom Manor. He loved a game of bridge and was a member of the Grimsby Curling Club for many years.
He married Ann at age 85 and they counted every day they had together as a blessing. Visitation and Funeral Prayers were held at STONEHOUSE-WHITCOMB FUNERAL HOME, 11 Mountain Street, GRIMSBY (905-945-2755) on Saturday, September 24, 2022, followed by cremation. If desired, memorial contributions to West Lincoln Memorial Hospital would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
