Elizabeth PARKEN Obituary

Elizabeth Campbell Parken passed peacefully at Kemptville District Hospital on Thursday, January 21, 2021. She was born in Glasgow, Scotland on October 11, 1935 and married Thomas David Parken on March 6, 1954. Loving mother of Ann (John) Alvi, Linda (Robert) Stevenson and David (Michael) Parken. Wonderful grandmother to Melissa (Blaine), Andrea (Christian), Michael, John, Amanda (David) and Mathew (Ali). Great-grandmother to Nicholas, Andrew, Aston, Lily, Garren, Owen and Sophie. She was a successful business owner and an integral part of her community. She resided in Cobourg, Ontario where her passion for education manifested into serving as a member of the school board and as it's chairwoman for a number of years. Elizabeth recognized the need to help others and in doing so achieved her 50 year pin for her volunteer work at the Northumberland Hills Hospital. She also admired the historical architecture of the buildings in Cobourg, especially Victoria Hall which lead to many years of service with the Victoria Hall Volunteers. She was a dear friend to many, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be missed terribly and will forever live in our hearts. Elizabeth will be laid to rest with her husband Tom later this year. Donations made to the Northumberland Hills Hospital would be appreciated.
