Peacefully at Ed's House Northumberland Hospice on Monday, May 22, 2023, Marie McLean at 68 years of age. Beloved daughter of the late John McLean and the late Louise McLean (nee Fortier). Loving sister of Mike (Gislaine), Sean (Kathryn), and Yolande (Michael). Cherished aunt of Sarah, Erika (Maxime), Myles, and great aunt of James. Also missed by her extended family and friends. A celebration of life gathering to be held at the MacCoubrey Funeral Home Reception Centre, 30 King St. E. in Cobourg on Saturday, June 17th, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marie's name may be made to Ed's House Northumberland Hospice. I got to know Marie in the 70's, thanks to her sister, Yolande (that person just behind Marie in the photo above). Such a strong and wise person. So sad to learn the news. Seeing her photo brought back warm memories of her in Montreal.

My sincere condolences to the McLean family. Marie and I taught together and carpooled for 9 years, absolutely loved our time together while commuting and teaching. Marie was a gem of a friend, I´m so incredibly sorry I didn´t know she was I´ll. (We last spoke on New Year´s Day.) My smartest, wisest, kindest friend. My advice to you...Please find a good book to read, sit by the shore and think of ways to save our planet, we need more like Marie!
