Andrew Lomax Strathdee, best friend and husband of Kimberly Moniz, died on Monday, June 2, 2014 at Massachusetts General Hospital. He was 24 years old. Born in Ontario, Canada, Andrew lived on Bainbridge Island, Washington before moving to Massachusetts. Kimberly and Andrew were married on June 9, 2013 and lived in Somerville, MA. Andrew will be greatly missed by his parents, Craig and Lesley Strathdee, his much-loved brother and sister, Kevin and Rachel, as well as his cat Reggie and dog Tofino. Andrew touched many peoples lives with his optimism, enthusiasm, and positivity. He was a runner, music lover, history buff, hockey enthusiast, book lover, barista and coffee snob, traveler, animal lover, adventurer, student, tree hugger, vegetarian, caf frequenter, podcast creator, dog walker, longboarder (lngbrdr), author, uncle, and movie buff. Friend. A memorial gathering will be held at a later date. Donations in Andrews memory may be made in support of the music therapy program at the MGH Cancer Center, or to WBUR, Bostons NPR station.
